negative space copies

the original is winslow homer's "child seated in a wicker chair."

i was told to copy it, but i wasn't told how, so i thought i'd try both
ways as an experience.. the first drawing is my right-side-up copy, the
second was done a few days later and is an inverted copy (with a major
error on the left side).

  1. I'm currently reading "Drawing - a contemporary approach" by Claudia Betti and Teel Sale, and it has just completely renewed my love for drawing. Highly reccommended further reading!

  2. that seems like a great tip. i'll take a look at it.

all the travel and craziness has had me off my drawing a bit but i should get started up in the next day or two.

  3. HEY! Get drawing! If you don't I'm going to have to start playing the piano.

  4. you're right, i need to get back on top of it.

believe it or not, i'd lost my book and supplies -- they got lost in the shuffles of continual travel -- but i've found them again.

    expect more shortly.

as always, thanks for your support.
