i was told to, "turn the original upside down and draw the negative
spaces. then turn the drawing right side up and complete the details
inside the forms.
i sort of did it. my heart wasn't really in drawing tonight *and* we
haven't done shading yet (i didn't feel like doing it anyway) *and* i
think it's a dumb idea to copy partial sketches because it's much harder
to get a firm grasp on exactly what it is you're copying.
this is easily my least favorite exercise in the book so far -- i think
it's just a really bad example. but hey, i'm drawing again.
